Letter from the General Secretary
Honourable Delegates, Presidents, and Teachers,
It is a true privilege to address you on the eve of the Fourth Edition of the Colegio Anglo Americano's CAAMUN Model, CAAMUN IV. This greeting is not a mere formality; it is the acknowledgement of the important work that each of you is about to begin.
This edition is deeply significant. Following a pause since 2020 due to the pandemic, the Anglo American School is reactivating CAAMUN, its official Model, returning with renewed strength. This academic event, challenging and highly motivating, is student-led and comes back stronger than ever. The Secretariat-General, under my leadership, has the firm certainty that this event must go beyond a simulation. Our collective goal is clear: to position CAAMUN as a true example of academic discipline and diplomatic excellence at the regional level.
CAAMUN is conducted entirely in English, which offers delegates a complete immersion in international diplomacy. Organized primarily by students, with the essential support of our faculty advisors, CAAMUN is an exercise in empowerment that requires participants to make decisions, take initiative, and develop leadership and teamwork skills. Thanks to our years of experience, we offer a unique United Nations Model that is designed to prepare you: to think clearly, negotiate effectively, and act confidently in a complex international environment.
By participating in this environment of discipline and dedication, you will acquire tools that will define your future. This Model is the laboratory where you will perfect the art of speaking publicly with conviction, develop the capacity for negotiation in the face of adversity, and enhance the critical thinking necessary to solve complex problems. These skills, which go far beyond the discussions in the hall, will prepare you for any scenario of international or professional leadership you choose. For their part, the Presidents will exercise impeccable academic leadership and will be the guides who orient the diplomatic process, ensuring an environment of respect and productivity essential for this learning.
We believe in your ability to address global crises with the seriousness and creativity required by the 21st Century. We look forward to debates that not only emulate the complex negotiations of the United Nations, but also offer bold and viable solutions that honour the principles of the ONU Charter.
I wish you all an intense and productive preparation period.
Sincerely and with the highest expectations,
Salvatore Maglioni Chaux
